Due to a recent medical diagnosis, I will not be taking any enquiries for new pupils until at least September.
Congratulations to Jaden Hodgson who passed his test today at Chertsey Test Centre. Unfortunately Jaden had been caught up in the lockdown cancellations but managed to secure a last minute test. A few hours of lessons over the following week and he passed in his own car. Well done Jaden!
Congratulations to Ben Esquivel who passed his test today at Chertsey Test Centre. This has been another long wait - Ben should've originally taken his test a year ago in May 2020. But finally got there today!
After a very long wait, Matthew Harvey had a fantastic first time pass today at Ashford Test Centre. Matt smashed it with ZERO driving faults. The examiner said the drive was as close to perfect as you could get, from a lovely young man!
Second pass of the week, this time for Ellie Smith at Ashford Test Centre. Ellie only had a handful of lessons before lockdown, expecting that we'd have plenty of time to get ready for today's test. Instead she's had to put in a lot of hard word over the last couple of weeks - but it paid off with a first time pass with only 3 driving faults.
My first test of 2021 (and in fact my first test for over 5 months) and a great result for Juliette Grammer who passed first time at Chertsey Test Centre. Juliette actually started lessons in Dec 2019 and has now been through three lockdowns and had her test rescheduled making this even more special today,
Covid has had a massive impact on the driver training industry. The DVSA now estimates that there is a backlog of around 420,000 driving tests and a 17 week wait for new test dates. The lockdowns and resulting cancellation of a number of my existing pupils' tests has greatly impacted on my usual availability. So whilst I would love to hear from you and am happy to discuss your requirements and/or take provisional bookings, I anticipate it will be June/July before I can start lessons with any new pupils.
The DVSA have stated that lessons and tests will not recommence before the 12th April. As long as the roadmap goes to plan, this is looking to be the likely restart date although is subject to confirmation.
The DVSA has confirmed that all driving lessons and tests will be postponed until at least mid-February due to Covid-19. This means that all current lessons are cancelled and I will not be taking on any more new pupils for the time being.
A review will take place at in the next few weeks where we should get some more information.
I'm not a huge fan of 7am starts but today was definitely worth it to see Emma Watkins pass her test at Ashford Test Centre. Emma should originally have taken her test on the 19th March but it was cancelled when we first went into lockdown. But after a very long wait, Emma finally passed with just three driving faults. An amazing achievement and very, very well deserved!
